The production design in S01E01 is phenomenal. The contrast between the warm, golden hues of the First Class cabins and the sickly, industrial greys of the Tail is striking. The CGI external shots of the train barreling through frozen wastelands look impressive for television. In 1080p, you can catch the tiny details in the set design—the rust on the pipes, the texture of the tailors' clothes, and the frost on the windows—that sell the reality of the situation.
