O you who believe, fear Allah as He should be feared, and do not die except as Muslims [in submission to Him]. O mankind, fear your Lord who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and spread from them many men and women. And fear Allah through whom you ask one another, and [fear severing] family ties. Indeed Allah is ever watchful over you.

Then the khaṭīb makes du‘ā’ for the Muslims, for strength of Islam, and for forgiveness, ending with: Indeed Allah commands justice, good conduct, and giving to relatives, and forbids immorality, bad conduct, and oppression. He admonishes you that you may take heed. So remember Allah, He will remember you. Be grateful to Him, and He will increase you.
