He was rendered in low-poly glory, his hat a series of triangular blocks, his skin a texture of grey pixels. He rolled his eyes back. The animation skipped a frame, making the movement look jarring, supernatural.
But storage is cheap. So why the obsession with "highly compressed"?
The "highly compressed" scene is simply the logical conclusion of that compromise. It is preservation through amputation.

The only way to play it is to own the original UMD (laughably expensive on eBay) or to pirate it.
Ravi stared. The screen turned a violent shade of crimson. The crowd cutouts stopped cheering and turned to face the camera. Their low-resolution faces were blank.
