In 1.20.1, there isn't just one "Xray." There are two primary ways players achieve the effect, and they function very differently.

“I’m resetting your player data,” Steve said. “Inventory, ender chest, build permissions in the main world. You keep your account. But you start over. In a new world. A single-player world. No server. No trades. Just you, a stone axe, and the darkness.”

Using Xray on public multiplayer servers is almost universally banned. It provides an unfair advantage and ruins the economy and fun for other players. Most servers utilize anti-cheat plugins (like Spartan, Vulcan, or Matrix) that can detect unusual mining patterns and lead to an immediate ban. Use these tools responsibly in single-player or on servers where it is explicitly allowed.
