The story follows Jack, an 18-year-old farm boy from the kingdom of Cloister. While in town, Jack trades his horse for a handful of mysterious beans offered by a monk. One of these beans falls through the floorboards of his home and, during a massive storm, sprouts into a giant beanstalk that carries (Eleanor Tomlinson) high into the sky.
