Rockman 4.5 Site
Released exclusively in Japan in August 2004 for the Game Boy Advance, Rockman 4.5: Real Operation is less a traditional sequel and more an experimental spinoff of the Mega Man Battle Network franchise. Following the divisive Battle Network 4 , Capcom opted not to produce a standard BN5 immediately, but instead released this oddity — a game that simulates a "real-time" PET (PErsonal Terminal) experience, blending virtual pet mechanics with strategic battles.
The game was designed to work with the , a GBA peripheral that reads real plastic toy chips (like the Pokémon Pikachu pedometer or Beyblade spinner). By plugging the Gate into the GBA’s link port, you could scan physical chips from the Battle Network toy line to deploy them instantly in battle. Without the Gate, the game simulates it via a menu, but the intended flow was: carry your GBA + Gate + chip folder, trigger random battles via an internal clock (real-time based), and slot chips physically to win. rockman 4.5
