Following the emotional weight of the pilot, Superman & Lois had a tall order: continue establishing the Kent family dynamics in Smallville while delivering the superhero spectacle we expect from the Man of Steel. Episode 2, titled manages to do both, balancing the crushing responsibility of saving the world with the intimate, messy struggle of raising two very different teenagers.
