Knotty The Deep One

The first recorded sighting of Knotty the Deep One was in 1985 by a team of deep-sea submersible explorers led by the renowned oceanographer, Dr. Kathryn "Katie" Jensen. The team was on a mission to explore the hadal zone, the deepest part of the ocean, in search of new species and discoveries. As they descended into the darkness, their submersible reached a depth of approximately 27,500 feet (8,375 meters) in the Mariana Trench, the lowest point on Earth.

The fog, the rotting pier, the fisherman who “knows too much,” the grandfather who warns “never go down to the slipway at low tide” — these elements are evocative but well-worn. Knotty doesn’t always break new ground. knotty the deep one
