How Do I Unblock An Email Address In Outlook [OFFICIAL]

There is a specific kind of humility required to unblock an email address. It is the silent admission that, perhaps, you were a little too hasty with the "Block Sender" button during a moment of inbox-zero induced mania. Or, more likely, you’re trying to fix the digital equivalent of a black hole where your grandmother’s emails keep disappearing.

Unblocking is gloriously simple here. You highlight the address and click the trash can icon (or the "Remove" button). It’s satisfying. It feels like unlocking a cell door. The system even gives you a pop-up to confirm the "resurrection."

Here is where the process loses a star. After you unblock the address, Outlook doesn't always believe you immediately. If the person emails you right now , it might still land in Junk. It takes a few minutes (or sometimes a server sync) for the whitelist to update. It’s the administrative equivalent of telling the bouncer to let someone in, but the bouncer is on a smoke break. The web version is the most reliable place to manage your filters, as changes here usually sync immediately to all your other devices. Log in to your account at Outlook.com. Click the (gear icon) in the top-right corner. Select Mail from the sidebar, then click Junk email . Find the Blocked senders and domains section. Locate the email address or domain you want to unblock. Click the Delete (trash can) icon next to it.

The main issue is discoverability. There is no obvious “Unblock” button on an email itself. You have to go digging through Settings. New users often waste time looking for a right-click option that doesn’t exist. Unblocking is gloriously simple here
