This is the most common misconception. The messages they sent while blocked are gone forever. They are not stored in a secret folder. When you unblock them, your chat history picks up from the moment of unblocking, not from where you left off.
If they never deleted your number, your chat will simply become active again. However, if they deleted your contact while you had them blocked, your number will appear as an unsaved number in their chat list.
