Season 5 remains a beautiful ghost story—a fantasy of what could be, destined to remain in the imagination, much like the man who stole the Sheriff's badge in the first place.

The final shot of Hood in the woods suggested a man returning to his roots, perhaps reverting to his true identity or vanishing entirely. A revival would likely find him pulled back into the life of crime, not by necessity, but by a threat to the one thing he left behind: Carrie Hopewell and her children.
