Modern computers use firmware, which requires a GPT (GUID Partition Table) disk style. Older machines use Legacy BIOS , which requires MBR (Master Boot Record). If your installation media is booted in UEFI mode but your disk is MBR—or vice versa—the installer will block the process at "Disk 0 Partition 1". Identify your target disk (usually ). Check its size to confirm. select disk 0 clean From Command Prompt (Shift+F10):
This method removes all partitions and converts the disk to the required format. blank means MBR.
