To boot an HP computer into Safe Mode, the process varies depending on whether you can currently access your Windows desktop. Since modern Windows versions (10 and 11) boot very quickly, the traditional key often does not work. Method 1: From the Windows Desktop (Working PC) hp boot safe mode

Some older HP desktops use F11 for recovery, but F8 remains for Safe Mode. If F8 fails, the Windows boot configuration data (BCD) may be corrupted or the system uses Fast Startup (not present in Win7).
To get out of Safe Mode and return to normal Windows:
Starting with Windows 8 and solidified in 10/11, Microsoft shortened the boot time so drastically that F8 interrupts are ignored by default. HP UEFI firmware respects this.
