If the source file (Word, InDesign, etc.) is available:

In a PDF or PostScript stream, fonts are resources. The PDF specification defines a "Resource Dictionary" where objects are named. The standard naming convention for font resources within a page’s resource dictionary is /F1 , /F2 , /F3 , etc.

A common user query is "Where can I download CID Font F1?" This section addresses the feasibility of such a request.

In older technical documentation and proofing workflows, the resource /F1 was sometimes hardcoded to point to the "Adobe Song Std" (a standard Simplified Chinese serif font) for testing purposes. Consequently, some older systems attempting to render a document referencing /F1 might default to Adobe Song Std.
