"It’s Maya," Elias said. "She’s working double shifts to pay for nursing school. She’s the one who remembers my order every day. Not because she has to, but because she sees people."

Elias stood in the shadows, watching. He saw the connection spark between the stranger, the art, and the memory. He realized then that the term "Bustartist" wasn't about the bust at all. It was about the artist —someone who could take the heavy, messy stone of reality and carve it into something light enough to carry in the heart.
