"Nah," Georgie said, putting his arm around her. "Real life is about tires and transmissions and figuring out how to pay the electric bill. But," he kissed the top of her head, "the quiet parts aren't so bad either."

"You know," Georgie said, breaking the silence as he reached for a bowl of popcorn. "If I can move those tires by Saturday, we can finally get that new transmission for the truck. Maybe even put a down payment on that washer-dryer combo you’ve been eyeing."
