Dell Function Key Lock Official

Are you trying to adjust your volume or brightness, but hitting the keys just opens the Action Center or Settings app instead? Or conversely, do you want to use the F1-F12 keys without holding down the Fn key?

On Dell laptops, the top row of keys (F1–F12) can perform two different actions: dell function key lock

| Issue | Solution | |-------|----------| | Fn + Esc does nothing | Try holding Fn for 2 seconds, then press Esc . Some external Dell USB keyboards also support Fn Lock via Fn + Esc .
