But there is a specific, weighty kind of love that we reserve for the rare few who shape our souls. Today, I want to talk about one of those rare people. It was a warmth

Why do we love our teachers? Usually, it’s because they are the first adults outside of our parents to see our potential.

So, this is my open letter. This is my attempt to put into words a sentiment that often goes unspoken because we assume our teachers know. They assume they know they are appreciated. But assumption is a poor substitute for expression.

It was a small moment. It took ten seconds. But it was a lifeline. In that moment, she wasn't just teaching me math, or English, or science—she was teaching me resilience. She was teaching me that my worth wasn't tied to a letter on a page.
