: For a user-centric experience, the Punjabi Nanakshahi Calendar on Google Play offers a multilingual interface (English, Punjabi, Hindi) and offline access.

A major point of contention remains regarding certain historical dates. While the SGPC officially adheres to the fixed Nanakshahi dates, some traditional groups and historical sources prefer the Bikrami lunar calculations.

The Nanakshahi calendar is a solar calendar used by Sikhs to determine the dates of Gurpurbs (anniversaries of Gurus), historic Sikh events, and festival days. It was officially adopted by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) in 2003.

Note: Every 4 years, Phagun has 31 days due to leap year adjustment.

Despite the SGPC's mandate, some local Gurdwara committees still refer to the older Bikrami calendar for certain events. This creates a dissonance where two neighboring Gurdwaras might celebrate a specific lesser-known Gurpurab on different days.

The Nanakshahi Calendar, adopted by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) in 2003, represents a distinct Sikh solar calendar system. Unlike the Bikrami calendar (which is lunar-based and often shifts festival dates significantly), the Nanakshahi calendar is solar-based, fixing the anniversaries of the Sikh Gurus to specific dates in the Gregorian calendar.
