Action Keys Mode -
In this mode, pressing the key with the speaker icon lowers the volume immediately. To actually perform the legacy F1 function, you must now hold the Fn key. This inversion is a declaration of intent by hardware manufacturers: they acknowledge that the modern user is no longer primarily a programmer running DOS prompts, but a consumer watching Netflix, adjusting brightness in a coffee shop, and toggling mute on Zoom calls.
