By exploring his tenure as the Registrar of Cooperative Societies and his influence on banking legislation, this paper argues that Christ was instrumental in transitioning the cooperative sector from a colonial tool for credit distribution to a mass movement for socioeconomic empowerment. His work laid the groundwork for the unique "Kerala Model" of development, characterized by high social indicators through decentralized financial inclusion.
